​SWElcome to the U

​SWE members reach out by visiting freshman level classes and hosting information tables throughout campus. We work to inspire new students to get involved in their major, raise awareness of upcoming SWE events, and network throughout University of Miami community

Canefest

SWE participates in UM's annual club expo to recruit new members and provide an opportunity to enhance new students' engineering related goals

Lunch and Learn Speaker Series

This is a new event to the upcoming school year where SWE members will network with various professional speakers and learn about opportunities available in the engineering field over lunch

iSCREAM Social

This is a joint event with SHPE and/or BME around Halloween. Offers networking opportunities and allows SWE to stay involved with efforts of other engineering related organizations on campus

Spark Night

SWE members serve as mentors for incoming freshman. Spark Night consists of a dinner, speakers, and discussion of upcoming events and engineering related opportunities. New members utilize this night as a time to build connections with their new mentors, and seek advice for their upcoming college experience

E-Week

SWE participates in national Engineering Week activities such as mini challenges throughout campus, hosting speakers for members and non-members, and volunteering efforts

Death by Chocolate

SWE hosts a semi-annual member appreciation meeting filled with tasty treats​

Nail Night

General member meeting usually at an e-board member's house where we paint nails, watch movies, and get to know new members.

Other Social Events!

Strawberry Picking: SWE members bond over exploring the Miami region as they travel to Kausberry Farms, a local strawberry farm.

SWEat with SWE​: SWE members participate in work out classes together on campus to strengthen the SWE community and connect over passions outside of engineering
